Radical Image Optimization Tool (RIOT) adalah sebuah program yang dapat digunakan untuk mengoptimasi file-file gambar dalam format file JPEG, PNG, dan GIF. Hasil optimasi yang dilakukan dengan RIOT ini dapat menghasilkan file image dengan ukuran yang lebih kecil namun kualitas yang dihasilkan mendekati kualitas file gambar aslinya.

Ketika Anda membuka file image yang tersimpan dalam komputer, RIOT akan menampilkan gambar tersebut beserta hasil optimasi yang dilakukan. Terdapat beberapa pilihan option yang bisa digunakan untuk proses optimasi dengan Radical Image Optimization Tool.

Program ini cocok bagi anda yang sering upload foto pada situs jaringan pertemanan seperti Facebook dan Friendster. Karena sebuah gambar yang ukurannya tidak terlalu besar akan lebih cepat di buka dan membuat waktu loading halaman web menjadi lebih cepat.

Decide if you want to keep metadata (comments, IPTC, Adobe XMP, EXIF profiles, ICC profiles). Unsupported metadata is removed

Transfer metadata between image formats (destination format must support them)

Common tools: pan and zoom, rotate, flip

Resize image by using well known resample filters (ex: Lanczos3, Catmull Rom, Bicubic, and others)

The compression and the results are comparable to those of commercial products.
